#WeedChat: Fridays at 4:20 PM Pacific
Following yesterday’s announcement of the first ever #WeedChat, we received several suggestions for a day-one topic. Inspired by @StonerNation’s blog post, Why People Use Cannabis, and suggested by fellow #MMOT supported and Twitter user @WeedDude, we pose this question for those joining the conversation: Why do YOU smoke Cannabis?
Before you get all worked up and start planning out your 140 character declarations of dependence, allow us to give you a brief explanation of Twubs (the site #WeedChat will be utilizing to aggregate the event). This is taken directly from Mashable and should provide an adequate description of the service and its purpose:
“Twubs, or hashtag hubs, gives hashtag users the power to contribute their own photos, videos, and tweets, edit Twub information related to the hastag, and get a more comprehensive view of the stream of activity. Users can also search their favorite hashtags to view the latest tweets, Twitpics, and Twub (hashtag) contributors. They can also edit hashtag information to add a full name, description, logo/image, related links and feeds, and tags.”
The beauty of this is that you can simply sign into #WeedChat’s Hub and keep up with the conversation, minus all of the other Twitter noise. It even adds the appropriate hashtag to your tweets, so there will be no need to repeatedly input “#WeedChat” into your comments.
We hope this information helps out a bit with your understanding of Twubs and #WeedChat. Should you have any questions, please drop us a line. We’d love to help and look forward to seeing you this Friday at 4:20 PM Pacific. To join the #WeedChat Twub, please visit the following link (WeedChat on Twubs) and hit the “Join This Twub” button in the sidebar. Bring a bowl and see you Friday!

Mmm..W33D
Hello from North Georgia. I do not smoke or smoke m.j., but I think mj should be legalized in small quantities. I have posted about mj on my blog, chemically green, and got a lot of comments on the pros and cons of smoking mj. But a lot of people say no to mj yet thousands are killed on the highways in alcohol related accidents. Kind of a double standard and moral values also come into play.
I am going to join WeedChat’s Hub to participate with the discussion.
The feds continue to say mj is illegal to use, but the attorney general said recently that the shops selling mj for medicinal purposes will not be raided. I would not trust anything the feds say at this time.
Thanks for making this chat on Twitter available. I am working on a 2-3 part blog series on legalizing mj in the near future and would like to see what people are having to say.
Sincerely
